My views on the book:
I feel that this book is quite interesting because it consists of many different characters in many different exciting adventures. But this story could be a bit "kiddy" because the characters are talking animals.
My favourite scene is when the stoats, weasels and ferrets from the Wild Wood have taken over Toad Hall, and the animals; Mole, Rat, Badger and Toad; come up with a good plan to get them out.
My favourite character is Rat because he is the wisest among all the animals and he is also a loyal, kind and helpful friend.

ReplyDeleteTitle of Book:The Truth About Leo
My views on book:It is a very moving but common story. There's a couple, they have a kid, their one and only son, somewhere along the way they break up,the mum falls ill and dies, then the father who is actually a doctor gets addicted to alcohol.Typical.The case is probably worse than the usual one you get thogh.
Nobody cares about the son,and the father even abuses him.Leo knows he has to do something, but what?He daydreams constantly in class, therefore always incurring the wrath of his teacher,Mr Manders.
My favourite character is Flora, the girl who helped Leo a lot.She was a source of inspiration for him,and without her,Leo's 'condition' would not have improved.
There aren't many good scenes, but i like the one where the Prime Minister gave a speech at Pier road Primary School, the school where he studied and the one Leo was studying in.The speech was very inspirational.
I highly recommend this book to others.

Views: In life, sometimes lies can help you in certain situations. But the lies made by Julia Rothman deceived Alex so badly, he joined Scorpia, a massive, ruthless and powerful criminal organization. This book gives a new meaning of the word 'lies', and after hearing those lies, he nearly changed his life. This book is exhilarating and action-packed too.
My favourite scene is when Alex Rider confronts Mrs.Jones in her flat, as you will feel nervous about Alex killing Mrs.Jones with a pistol, but in the end he was tricked and he was nabbed.

ReplyDeleteTITLE: The Phantom Tollbooth
VIEWS:
I think this story is a little weird, as many things in it are fictional, so this story can be quite unexpected at some parts. Despite the fact that the story is a little odd, it is still very interesting. I find it unfanthomable that the author could think up of such an odd yet appealing plot.
My favourite character is Alec Bings. He, like every other thing or person in this story, is not exactly normal. For humans like us, we start from the ground and grow upwards, and we never know how far we will go until we get there, which causes us to see things in different angles, depending on how tall you are. But, for people like Alec Bings, they always see things in the same angle, as they grow downwards. When they are very young, they will be suspended in mid-air, and as they grow, their legs will get longer and slowly, their feet will reach the ground. I find this system extremely engaging, so Alec Bings is my favourite character.

ReplyDeleteTitle : Marley : A Dog Like No Other
Views :
I think this book is captivating, but at the same time, sad. This story talks about a dog named Marley, a Labrador. ( which John Grogan, the author, and his wife bought ). Marley is very mischievous and is scared of thunder. He claws things like cushions, pillows and many other things that could be scratched in John’s house. As the years go by, Marley gets older and older and finally dies of old age. Tears almost trickled down my cheek when I read the part when Marley died. And most of all, this was a real life story.
My favourite character is none other than Marley, the dog. At first, he is very naughty and likes to get into trouble. He never fails to break and smash things. Although he is rambunctious and gets ticked off often, he will be his jolly old self in no time and will get up to mischief again. Once, he almost broke a $30,000 video camera! Marley also has a very big appetite and John always finds weird things in his poop – jewelry, leather from couches and so on and so forth. Marley’s cute look resembles my uncle’s dog, Bubbles.

Title: Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Seas
My Views on The Book: This book’s detailed descriptions give readers the feeling that he is personally on the scene. I think this book gives the perfect example of how to be efficient.
Favourite Scene: I like the part where Dr Pierre Aronnax, Conseil, his servant, and Ned Land were having dinner in the chamber in the submarine Nautilus. Jules Verne perfectly described the complicated emotions of the characters: Dr Aronnax’s curiosity, fear and worry; Conseil’s ability to remain calm despite facing danger and Ned Land’s fits of anger when he was mistreated.
Favourite Character: My favourite character is Nemo, the captain of the Nautilus. He is canny, persuasive and likes to take risks. He knows how to get the most out of limited resources. He eats things from the sea, wears things in the sea, lives in the sea and even gets cigars from the sea.
