  1. Title:Fun and games at Malory Towers
    Summary:It is about Music-mad Millicent organising school orchestra rehearsals at the same time as june's tennis matches and they were arguing over the people they want in their teams. Things also started going missing...and it was by a person who stole the things while she was sleepingwalking as she was under a lot of stress- she had to prepare for the school orchestra and tennis matches.
    Interesting part:the part where they keep us in suspend and want us to keep reading, like the main point of the whole story or like something interesting happening.
    Boring part:The start of the story where they are not going to the main point and beating about the bush
    Good phrases:1)melodramatic 2)weight off our minds 3)trying to steal her thunder 4)rapturous 5)keeping an eye on her

  2. Title:The enchanted wood
    Author: Enid Blyton
    Summary:The story begins when three children-
    Joe,Beth and Franniemove right next doorto an enchanted wood , and discover the Faraway tree with its many different lands at the top of it.They make new friends,slide down the slippery slip and go to many interesting lands.They also make many new friends and discover a magical new world.

    Interesting part:When it was Beth's birthday,and Joe, Frannie and their new friends planned a birthday party for her.Coincidently,the birthday land was just at the top of the tree and they could all go up the tree for a birthday feast , fancy dress feast and play many interesting games as it was Beth's birthday.

    Boring part:when they first move to the countryside and introduced us to the characters and it was quite a while after it then the adventures begin which was quite boring.

    Good phrases:At the wheel/great cloud of coloured balloons/sizzled down/kept an eye open/once bitten,twice shy

  3. Title:The Lost Boy
    Autor:Dave Pelzer

    Summary:
    It is about a teenager called David who was previously abused. He managed to get out of his house and was under foster care. It shows how he adapts to a new place as his foster parents kept changing. He then tries to live his live normally to be like other children.

    Boring part:
    It was when a social worker, Miss Gold, tried to gather evidence to free David from his mother. It was quite long and boring.

  4. Title: Young Sherlock Holmes Death Cloud
    Author: Andrew Lane

    Summary of book:
    The young Sherlock Holmes, who was 14 years old, was sent to Farnham to live with his uncle Sherrinford for a few months. He met a friend called Matty and a girl, Virginia. Sherlock witnessed 2 mysterious deaths and saw clouds moving in a strange way. Together with Matty, they solved the mysteries, "battled" the Baron and saved many British soldiers' life, but in a very dangerous way which almost got them killed.

    Interesting part: Sherlock and Virginia, after using clues to solve mysteries, told the enemy, Baron Maupertuis evernthing and they foought with each other(Sherlock&Virginia V.S. Baron Maupertuis).

    Author: Gillian Cross
    Summary: This story is similar to Red Riding Hood, and it talkes about how Cassy faced the danger of the wolves together with Goldie and Lyall

    Author:Zizou Corder

    Summary:Halo was a baby washed ashore in ancient Greece, which as soon discovered by a family of centaurs. However, when Halo was dragged away by fishermen, she soon realises that she is to survive then she must live in disguise-as a boy.

    Interesting part: When she had to try to disguise as a boy.

    Boring part:When she was dragged away by fishermen as it was a little too long.

  8. Title : Mary Poppins Opens the Door
    Author : P.L. Travers
    Summary of book : Mary Poppins coming back to the Banks family and brought the children to a new round of marvellous adventures. Such as, a visit to Mr Twigley’s music box-filled attic, an encounter with the Marble Boy and a ride on Miss Calico’s enchanted candy canes.
    Interesting part : The story of THE CAT THAT LOOKED AT THE KING.
    Good phrases :
    -A yell of delight went up from the children
    -sighed for sheer joy
    -Speechless with astonishment
    -cheerfully babbling

    Summary: Alice Tuckfield is a girl who witnessed her own father's death and goes to New York for help.But things do not go as planned. She meets a group of choirboys and they take her in and diaguises her as a boy. But soon, she is kidnapped by one of the Masters in her school. Her friends try to find a way to rescue her.
    Interesting part: The part when the boys disguised her as a boy.

    Summary of the book: Nora Rose Rowley is a genius but she does not want anyone to know that. She just wants to be an ordinary kid and she has kept it that way until fifth grade. However, when Nora gets fed up with everyone being to concerned about grades, she purposely brings home a terrible report card just to prove a point. Suddenly, the attention that she has successfully avoided all her life is focused on her and her secret is out.

    Boring part: When Nora's family did their routine.

    Author:Enid Blyton

    Summary:St Clare's is a boarding school and there is a new head girl,Margaret, who always causes trouble for the third formers,especially Kitty. During the first few weeks of the first term of school, the second and third formers always quarreled and played tricks on each other. But in the end, their feud has ended and Margaret was expelled because she had made a very serious mistake which was planned out by Kitty.

    Interesting part: The part when the third formers planned out their tricks on the second formers.

    Good phrases:
    -both had their hands on their hips and judging from the angry scowls on their faces, were exchanging heated words
    -she turned red with fury, her brown eyes glittering as she opened her mouth to make an angry retort
    -were in absolute fits of laughter
    -cramming them like sardines
    -sticking her nose in

    -insults and accusations fly back and forth
    -to pull her socks up

    Summary: Martha, Katherine, Mark and Jane went to a cottage near a lake during a vacation with their parents. They found out that the lake was actually magic and they wished many things, mostly adventures, including meeting with pirates and a mermaid. After a few adventures, they found out that their father's book shop is failing and they tried to get valuable items through their adventures. Finally, their father solved the business' problems.
    Boring part: The long and boring introduction when the author wrote what the children did.

  14. Title: The Girl Who Could Fly
    Author: Victoria Forester

    Summary: Piper McCloud lived a normal life at first, until she discovered she could fly. She was then sent to I.N.S.A.N.E., a secret school for children with ablities like hers. Some of the students there have psychic powers and extrodinary speed and strength. But, she realises that this school is actually more dangerous then safe when she finds out that the headmaster of the school was trying to get rid of their special ablities.

    Interesting part: When Piper found out that Letita Hellion(headmaster) was feeding them drugs in their food, they planned an escape route with Conrad(her friend). They lead the other students(Smitty,Daisy,Lily,Violet,Myrtle,The Mustafa Twins,Jasper and Kimber) out of the facility.

    Good Phrases:
    1.body tingled, and emboldened with Herculean strength
    2.sank deeper and deeper into blackness, until a single flickering ray of light, like a tiny candle on a gusty day, broke through.
    3.she could be blown away by a hard wind
    4.heart sank, his worst fear realized

    Summary:this story is about a brownie who was very naughty. One day he went into a cottage and found two big black witch cats.He then tie the cats tails together.When the cats woke up,they were angry and punished him.

    Interesting part:The part where Snicker was tying the cats tails and he was puinished.

    boring part:The part where he talked to the goblin which was quite boring.

    Good phrases:in dismay/left a slivery trail which looked like a snail's/tug/dreadful/wriggled and flapped

  16. Title: Freaky Stuff
    Author: Richard Tulloch

    Summary:
    Brian Hobble is a "wonder writer, schoolboy hero, class superhunk, and penalty-taker for Garunga Glory soccer team", as he thinks. Weird, scary and freaky stuff happens to him and in this book, he had to overcome his fears. They include: his first kiss and heights. Most of the story is about his brother, Matthew, who was obsessed with a TV show which is about a group of people using violence to kill zombies. His school assigns him and his schoolmates each to a buddy younger than them, who are going to their school soon. Brian gets Sebastian, a boy who thinks he's a fairy. Matthew, on the other hand, thinks he's the "hero" in the zombie TV show. Anyone that looks like a zombie to him, he tries to kill and he can impersonate all the heroes in the show really well. Sebastian usually solves the problem by sprinkling "fairy dust" or chanting "magical spells" which, weirdly, work.

    Intresting Part:
    When Matthew tries to bash up 2 big, bulky gansters as they look like "zombies", and Sebastian saying a spell which magically turns everyone nice.

    Boring Part:
    The parts where Brian sends emails to Lancelot Cummings, which are of his daily life, very mundane

  17. Tittle: The Naughtiest Girl Again
    Author: Enid Blyton

    Summary: A girl named Elizabeth was one of the naughtiest students in the school before the long summer holidays but when she goes back to school after, she becomes one of the best as she helped her younger schoolmates from the bullies and did many other good things.

    Interesting part(s): When they explained the processes of her helping others and the way they expressed how their school life was like, making it hard for me to stop reading once I started because I felt like I was in the story.

    Good phrases:
    -the pale winter sun shone down and the sky was the faint blue of a harebell
    -his face was flushed
    -ran helter-skelter
    -soaked to the skin

    author: Enid Blyton

    Summary: two boys, Bubble and Squeak were boys that sold Bellows for a living. One day they had a mischievous plan to put a wind spell into a bellow and sell it to a gnome whom they did not like. After doing what they have plan out they trailed the gnome back home and the outcome was not what they expected. At that, they were punished by the king and queen and they had to stay in a deserted island for a year.

    Interesting part: The king and Queen's house being made into a big mess as the bellow was too strong

  21. Title: Skeleton Key
    Author: Anthony Horowitz

    Summary: A fourteen year old teenage spy, Alex Rider, was supposed to go on a vacation at Cayo Esqueleto-also known as Skeleton Key. Before he could enjoy his vacation, he found himself in another mission: to stop General Alexei Sarov who had a nuclear bomb which was meant to destroy Britain. In order to stop Sarov from destroying Britain, Alex attempted to defuse the nuclear from exploding, and succeeded. Once again he saved the world.

    Interesting part: A man wanted to kill Alex on the Cribber -a big and powerful wave- but Alex manage to get rid of the man and managed to balance well on the Cribber.

    Summary:Alex Rider, was relaxing in the South of France with his girlfriend, when a contact killer, Yassen Gregovorich, blows up his girlfriend's rented house, injuring her father badly. Among the wreckage, he found a scrap of paper, which was about a celebrity named Damian Cray. Soon, he found out that Damian Cray, who supposedly wanted to make drugs disappear from the world, has a plan that will kill millions of people along with drug factories. He has a metal capsule, which will allow him to override NSA's security system to fire 25 nuclear missiles at his targets. In the end, Damian Cray had a very gruesome death on board the Air Force One.
    Interesting part: Alex used a few heavy duty metal clips to stick himself on a lorry, camouflaging himself so well that the guards did not realise he was on the lorry!

    Summary:
    Alex Rider, a fourteen year old spy finds out that his father is a ruthless assassin and this puts his image of his parents in a different perspective. But is that really true?
    Interesting part:
    When Alex is sent by Scorpia, a secret organisation, to kill Mrs Jones.
    Boring part:
    Mrs Jones talks to Alex and plants a seed of doubt in Alex's mind before Alex shoots her. Mrs Jones talks for too long.
    Good phrases:
