  27. Title: Carlos Is Gonna Get It
    Author: Kevin Emerson

Favourite scene: It was when Carlos showed Trina his "aquarium". There were doll heads inside the "aquarium", most probably from his younger sister, Kelly, who likes to bite and pull off her doll's head. He says that inside the doll heads, there were "aliens". (Eventually, it was just something else that the book didn’t mention.)

Reflections: As Carlos is down-syndromed, many people in the class made fun of him. They called him names such as "Tweedo". When he goes "crazy", some pupils in the class would jeer out the word "problems". I think we should not make fun of people because of their weaknesses and instead, should show care and give them encouragement. We should also be more kind and helpful to them, supporting them through their toughest times.

    Good phrases:
    -low, distant rumble
-heard a second of his hysterical mumbling
    -wicked snap
    -pinned by Donte's pudgy body
-a brilliant bolt of lightning sliced down out of the huge cloud, striking the fire tower, and making it shimmer white.
-Thunder sounded again, only this time it didn't boom, it slammed its iron fists together.
    -border of trees
-huge bolt of lightning danced across the rolling clouds above us.
-veiny fingers of electricity spiking through the clouds.
-I swear two-pound raindrop hit me right in the eye.
-ducked my head back down below the ledge as an army of raindrops smacked me in the face.
-I looked up again, shielding my eyes this time, but with the blur of rain added to the total blackness, I couldn't see a thing.

It was when Ray and his friends went from the train Ballyhoo to The Pitch Dark Train where the Gog and the orphans were. Ray tried to rescue his sister Sally and the other orphans, while trying to protect Jolie from being used by the Gog(G. Octavius Grevol).

Point of reflection: In the story, Ray was very brave and liked to think a lot. I think we should learn from him as in real life, we cannot be a coward.

  29. Title:New Term at Malory Towers
    Author:Enid Blyton

    Favourite chapter:
    Chapter 9, Vanishing cream
It was when June played a trick on Mam'zelle Rougier when she was marking Bonnie's work. June hid in the store room, saying that she used too much vanishing cream and had become invisible. To avoid being reprimanded by Mam'zelle Rougier, June and the whole class said that she had been sleeping and dreamt that June used too much vanishing cream and had become invisible.

Point of reflection: The third form, fourth form and Miss Grayling agreed to give Veronica a chance by letting her to continue with the fourth form in the end of the term, although she had made a mistake and cause Miss Grayling to keep her with the third form instead of going up into the fourth form that term. I think that we should always give others a chance whenever they did something wrong.
